Hey fellow activists and researchers!

I’ve been thinking a lot lately about how we approach human rights research. Isn’t it time we critically examine our methods and perspectives? The field has been dominated by Western viewpoints for too long, and I believe we need to actively work on decolonizing our approach.

Some ideas I’ve been mulling over:

1. Centering local voices and experiences
2. Challenging power dynamics in research relationships
3. Recognizing diverse forms of knowledge beyond academic papers
4. Addressing the impact of historical and ongoing colonialism on human rights issues

What are your thoughts on this? Have you seen any promising new approaches in your work? How can we make human rights research more inclusive and representative of global perspectives?
